A variety of DNA and RNA technologies enable us to detect micro-organisms such as bacteria and viruses. A few applications for this technology include:
• Detection of salmonella and listeria monocytogenes in raw meat products
Meat producers can have raw meat products such as filet americain tested for salmonella and listeria monocytogenes before supplying them to supermarkets and consumers. This can prevent a contaminated batch from being offered to consumers. If you have questions or would like to order a project, please contact us using the contact form or by e-mail.
• Detection of the infection by a virus or bacteria in farm animals
There are DNA and RNA tests available for the detection of animal diseases such as BVD, ParaTBC in cattle, PRRS in pigs, Q fever in goats and CEM in horses. We perform this test in collaboration with GD Animal Health in Deventer. For more information, please contact GD Animal Health.
